0:00 Hey, welcome to the next episode of the Hyperloop podcast. I'm your host, Daniel Martinez. I have a special guest, Mr. Troy Holt, he's back with us again, we're gonna cover some courage meant for a lot of different things. But this is a special episode of me. If you haven't seen the other episode, please go watch it. We talked about a lot of estate planning and properly planning for the future. And elderly cared a lot of stuff like that. So please, the champion episode. Mr. Troy Hall, how are you doing today? 0:30 I'm very well, I cannot complain. 0:33 So I was really I was really impacted by the episode we just recorded. And I was like, let's do another one for encouragement and encouragement to entrepreneurs and people in general, I think a lot of people struggle and have a lot more issues that they don't want to face. And sometimes it's an encouragement, a little bit of, of love. And sometimes it's a just a tension, a lot of people are affected a lot of different ways. So what's some encouragement you have towards entrepreneurs? I think a lot of artists entrepreneurs. Can you say some words of encouragement to in general? I don't know. I don't know. That's kind of off the off the hip and off the cuff. 1:15 You know, what, a couple of things I'll say is, number one is that failure is not fine. So many times, we look at failure as the finality, finality or we look at it as sometimes death. And failure is simply a learning. You know, there's a there's a book by John Maxwell, sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you learn. So we learn more people, what we what we wouldn't realize we learn more through our soldiers than we do our success. So let me let me show you how. So that you take the test. So that was listening. And so you're listening to this this illustration that you take in a test to test 100 questions. And you make 70. Okay, yep. And you're trying to figure out how you made it 70? Are you going to look at the 30 that you missed? Or the 70? That you got, right? 2:32 Usually, I'm gonna get the 30 I miss because I didn't get those correct. 2:36 So my point, we learn more to the failure than the success. So so the seven, we're not worried about, so we got it. So but it's the ones that we fail we miss is the one we start looking at. So when I miss that, what can I do better? And so when we start taking on failure from the standpoint of, okay, what can I learn from this? What is what is it? What, what was the lesson here? I think we all view a failure. And as entrepreneurs, we want to have those, those failures, you know, we want to have where it didn't go like we want to, sometimes we don't have successes. So many times we learn more in our valleys than we do on mountaintops. And so, so don't get discouraged when you in the valley of failure, just realize that, you know, there's some there's a learning tool there. And so, so many times, when we fail, we we get mad at ourselves and want to quit, don't quit, don't give up. It's just a learning tool now sometimes may have to change and modify, you know, the football team, they go in at halftime, and they make halftime adjustments. You know, so many of us, we you know, we made some mistake, we gotta make some halftime adjustments, we come back come out in the second half, and bam, we end up winning. So So my thing is don't look at failure as final, but look at failure, you know, as a learning. 4:10 Yeah, I think 100% 100% agree. I think it's, I had I had a failure early on, but for his business, and I pivoted into real estate, which is what I do now. And it was one of those things where like, one of the things I say a lot too, is if you survive long enough to get there, you'll get there. A lot of a lot of a lot of entrepreneurs as a whole they'll start something and it may not be the right path, but though, they'll trip up and that's okay. You trip up, it happens happens to the best of us. But 4:38 Daniel get good. Um, so, I want to ask you this question. Do you think like you hadn't, if you hadn't sailed you would have been in real estate now? No, no way. Okay. See? See, it was a blessing that you you failed. So could you in a bigger space, more success net? Yeah. 4:59 100% This is like the opportunity. I hate the I hate the chastisement of like high school and like younger age people were like you did the wrong, we're gonna 5:10 correct it. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, 5:13 it's so so adverse to education and to realize it is, like, when you, when you when you trip up and get the answer wrong, it's opportunity to get it right and build upon it and not to, not to soak in, sit in the moment and really get it in your head. I think a lot entrepreneurship is it's a, it's a mindset thing. 100%. And, you know, and a lot of it is just consistency. If you if you are consistent, and whatever your option, whatever you're doing these are your work is you're gonna you're gonna produce results and results is what gets you up the next step that gets you up. And ensured, it gets you going in the right direction. Because one of the one of the things that I saw on Twitter recently was that, like, if you waste a year thinking about making the right decision, you actually wasted two, because they actually have to go and do that decision, we could have been two years in advance by having to redo the year over again. 6:07 True, true. And I want to also also add is the don't let people knock you for having a nine to five. And if you can do the business as a side hustle, do it. Because your nine to five number one it can it takes care of your family. But number two, it can help fund your business. So don't let people knock you having a nine to five, you know, you just stay on your path and you'll you'll go and then there's something but they don't need to be entrepreneurs, you know, they need to stay at night. So, so those are my you know, my my advice, you know, because, you know, like on LinkedIn, I'm being on LinkedIn. And you know, everybody's saying, hey, well, not everybody, but a lot of people become an entrepreneur, entrepreneur, Trump's become an entrepreneur, which is, which is good entrepreneur, everybody didn't just quit their nine to five, tomorrow and then become an entrepreneur, you know, so it's okay to take your time because everybody's on a different path. Yeah, 7:22 and it doesn't even matter your age either. Like, don't don't look at only your 20 year old success. And you're in your 30s or 40s. Like, everybody has their own time and their own path to get where they need to be, you know, or want to be Yeah, sure. 7:37 Remember, Colonel Sanders I think was thing with the 60s? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. 7:49 So ever don't ever like strong standards. And that's that's another is a great example. Is that in the 60s 50s? Sure, a choice. Right. And I'm wrong. 7:59 I remember reading, I don't know the exact date, but I think he was in his 60s. 8:03 There. Yeah. And it's different. It's different motivations, like, his motivation might have been right at that time, to give him the energy to do what he needed to do to create that, you know, a lot of its underlying motivation, that could be timing, it could be not that the right project may not be your passion. I think a lot of people they struggle with that, too, is that if you're not doing something you're passionate about, you're gonna burn out very, very easily. Very, very fast. So maybe if you burn out, it's okay. Like, it means it wasn't the right direction for you. And it's okay. And I think 8:38 you will. And that's the question we should ask ourself is, could I do if I wasn't getting paid? And if you can answer the question, yes, then it's a question. And then, because money is great. But money don't always motivate you all the time. Especially a B, takes example, me. You can say to I'm gonna pay you $260 a year to do construction work. I don't like working outside, I don't like construction work, I may work three months. And then after three months, I'll quit. It just not me. I'm not passionate about I don't like the type of work so. So shout out to the construction workers. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just I don't like the type of work. So let me be maybe inside the office was AC, okay. And so that 200 feet the time out, you know, you put that in, and I can do this because I'm not passionate about it. So, you know, ask yourself, can you do this, you will get paid and that's, you know, that's the answer to your passion. And if you can do that and continue to do that. I believe that it opened up doors for you to be able to not only operate your passion but also get to take 10:00 Oh, one thing I'll say to say that too is that usually when you get to that number you want to hit. It's okay. Like it's okay to pivot and do something else too. Because, like a lot, there's a lot of ways to get rich. And then once you get rich, you're like, Okay, what I do now? Let's step let's move, right? What directions like you and I, like, I wasn't really passionate about that. And I got here. And this is where like, I, this is so crazy. One of my personal I took I took a teenager's course to get into real estate. When I first started, he was like 18, he was he was educating the masses. So I bought his course. And one thing he did was, he literally did real estate for five, six years found success in that. And he used that as a tool to create the life you want it after, after he got the money set. Yes, as well, like you can, you can create your own future, doing something temporarily, that might bring in the capital, but your pivot into something you like something, capital opens up a lot of doors, that, hey, I might need to do this one thing. Maybe it's the construction worker, maybe to do this for two years, build up my capital, and then I can do something I want to do. So don't knock everybody in there on stage. Like it's sometimes it's a stepping stool to get to where you want to go. Yeah, I don't it I think a lot of people, find a mentor, find an advisor, find somebody who is where you want to be a lot of things. If you if you love entrepreneurship, it can be very lonely. A lot of the time. Somebody like minded at least to go with you. This is where like, I think like networking groups and entrepreneur groups and maybe going golfing and network with other other people in that, in that space, where their capital their capital heavy, like it gives you the units that gives you the experience and anticipation of what life could be. And it gives you the the relativity of hey, these are people that have somewhat made it because they're here on a Monday afternoon where most people are at work. 12:16 Yeah, there's been no saying, you know, if you are the smartest person in the room, he was wrong on the wrong. The wrong room. Yeah, you won't be around people who are smarter and more successful. So so you can strive to be like them. 12:40 Any final word of encouragement. 12:44 Final word of encouragement. Don't quit, don't give up. When these days share a big testimony, I won't don't do it this time. But when they Daniel, have you back, I share a big testimony. Don't give up or quit. Don't get discouraged. Keep going. 13:04 Yeah. For everybody here. I tell everybody here to produce content. And my quote is, you build your infamy off the content you produce, especially in the day and age we're heading to start creating content and build the future you want really want to live? 13:18 Yeah, crying content creation. If you can do that, and do well, you really would, will will. Because social media is social media is really free prospects. Just gotta know how to do it. Right. Right. Click to the drop people more to develop the lead source. 13:43 Yeah. And you gotta do it consistently. Like you said, don't quit. Yeah, you'll see some, you'll see some benefit in the long run after you do it for a long time. Sure, sure. Well, where can people find you online, we got Troy holt.com. Host/ Ceo/ Speaker

I have been an entrepreneur since 2018. I come from a regular home just like most people. My dad worked on the roads in the Chicago area for over 30 years. He always taught me to work with my brain, instead of my body. Your body can only take so much abuse. I learned so much from my father. He always pushed me to work smarter and not harder.

I have owned and operated a trucking business for 2 years. I started learning real estate in 2019. Fell into the Data & Skiptracing business in 2020. My partner Anthony & I started Hivemind in 2021.

I have done a ton of different jobs coming up from painting, to door-to-door sales, telemarketing, truck driving, and loading trailers. What I learned most is that I want to stay in the digital business space. The leverage you can have delivering digital products to the marketplace can yield limitless possibilites.

I started The List Guys in 2020. It is a data and skiptracing service. We provide seller and buyers list nationwide. My clients have been getting great results and I am proud to help people killing it.

I started the Hive in 2021 with my partner Anthony Gaona. It is a real estate and business mastermind. It also comes with a all in one CRM, that can host unlimited websites and users.

Starting the Hivemind has been an amazing journey so far. Seeing one of our users make his 6 figure month in June 2021 leveraging our software, I know there will be plenty more to come!
